Puregene is an innovation-driven hemp breeding company. As our research and operations expand, we are seeking a dynamic and highly capable Project Manager to bring structure, alignment, and executional excellence to our breeding and R&D initiatives—while also supporting team learning, knowledge sharing, budget tracking, and operational planning.
Project Manager
Your responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and maintain timelines, Gantt charts, and work plans for breeding and research programs.
- Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation.
- Identify risks and dependencies; propose mitigations and solutions.
- Assist in project coordination activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with operational standards.
Budget Tracking & Operational Planning
- Assist in developing project budgets and track expenditures to ensure alignment with financial plans.
- Support operational planning, including resource forecasting and allocation, to enhance efficiency and meet strategic goals.
Team Coordination & Communication
- Facilitate weekly project planning meetings and cross-functional stand-ups.
- Ensure clear documentation and dissemination of goals, responsibilities, and action items.
- Prepare and deliver concise progress updates and presentations (PPT).
Tool Implementation & Data Management
- Lead implementation and team adoption of project management software.
- Maintain organized records and track project progress.
- Create and manage trackers and dashboards.
Workshops & Education Facilitation
- Plan and coordinate internal workshops (e.g., planning retreats, technical deep-dives).
- Support educational event logistics, including speaker coordination, materials prep, and scheduling.
- Help design agendas and moderate sessions to support team alignment and learning.
Strategic & Operational Support
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure project alignment with company priorities.
- Recommend improvements to workflows, communication, and data transparency.
Your profile:
The ideal candidate will oversee the execution of scientific and operational projects within the breeding and R&D pipeline. In addition, they will facilitate workshops, support operational planning, manage basic budget tracking, and assist with development projects. This comprehensive approach ensures project success, continuous capacity-building, efficient resource utilization, and infrastructure enhancement within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, agronomy, plant science, biotechnology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in project management, ideally in a scientific or biotech setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and cloud-based collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Office365).
- Hands-on experience using and implementing project management platforms (e.g., Asana, Notion, Jira).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
