Dr. Maximilian Vogt
- Head of Plant Breeding
As Head of Plant Breeding, Maximilian ensures the development of structured populations and high-quality research material, as well as improving adapted elite material in target environments.
The two divisions within the Department Breeding – Breeding and Pre-Breeding – align the research of valuable traits with respective breeding strategies to produce elite genetics.
As supervisor of the H2020 Marie Curie Research Response Project focusing on genomic prediction, Maximilian guides the research and population design of large-scale intercontinental experiments.
Maximilian coordinates reoccurring large-scale field trials, selection of material, field design and phenotyping strategies to ensure a constant supply of high-quality data for marker trait association studies. He authored 3 peer-reviewed scientific publications in context of marker assisted selection and F1-hybrid breeding, cytogenetics and genome assembly.
