Dr. Marc W Schmid
- Strategic Bioinformatics Platform Development
Dr. Schmid is a key role player in Strategic Bioinformatics Platform Development. He ensures that the data generated at Puregene is stored, processed and analyzed in the best possible way to support Puregene’s breeding and research activities. Before joining Puregene in 2019 he was a Senior Bioinformatician at MWSchmid GMbH. Dr. Schmid was awarded a PhD in Natural Sciences from the University of Zürich in 2015. He performed independent data analysis, customized software development, statistical consulting and scientific writing for various research projects.
He has authored 34 peer-reviewed publications and is currently working on 7 additional publications. The unifying theme of his research is the attempt to understand various aspects of life with the help of quantitative large-scale data.
