Dr. Julian Koschmieder

Dr. Koschmieder joined Puregene AG as an Analytics Research Scientist in January 2021 and has since been appointed as the Head of Analytics R&D and QC.
He holds a PhD in Plant Biochemistry and Analytics from the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau, where he also completed a postdoctoral research project in December 2020 shortly before joining Puregene. His extensive experience in the field includes analytics of plant metabolites using state-of-the-art chromatography (HPLC-DAD, GC-FID, UPLC-DAD-MS-MS), enzymology and much more. He also previously gained significant experience at Losan Pharma GmbH as Lab Leader Analytics (R&D). In this position in a GMP environment, he led and coordinated analytical aspects of the development of new drug products for international customers, including conception and execution of ICH stability studies, validation of analytical methods and handling of quality events in compliance with international guidelines and pharmacopeia.
